FAQs

Questions we are asked most often

Do I need to know how to swim before joining?
Not at all — most of our members start as complete beginners. Beginners train in the marked shallow section with a coach in the water alongside them, and only move to deeper water once they are confident.
What is the minimum age to join?
We take children from about five years old for swimming and football, from seven for cricket, and from ten for shooting. There is no upper age limit — we run adult lap swimming, evening turf slots and programmes for defence candidates.
Is there a trial session before I pay?
Yes. Your first session is free and you sit in on a full batch, not a shortened demo. Call 096651 03220 and we will book you into a slot that suits.
Are there separate batches for women and girls?
Yes. We run dedicated ladies' batches in the pool with published timings, and beginner-only slots for children.
Can I book the turf without being a member?
You can. Both the cricket and football turfs are available to book by the hour for teams, offices and weekend groups, with floodlights and equipment included.
Do you build swimming pools and turfs for other people?
Yes — it is one of our main services. SFG is specialised in swimming pool, shooting range and turf construction to international standards, anywhere in India. Under our school affiliation programme the infrastructure is developed free of cost on a five to ten year plan.
What certification do students receive?
SFG issues certificates through the Sports Education Awards Program (SEAP) and the SKILL Ready! initiative, based on nationally recognised workforce assessments. Courses are also offered through the Council of Sports Skill Education and Training (CSSET).
How can my school become affiliated?
Through the SFG Affiliation Program. We discuss your requirements, inspect the site twice, sign an MoU, then develop the infrastructure and deploy coaches. Call us to arrange the first site visit.
What should I bring to the first session?
For swimming: swimwear, a towel and a cap. For cricket and football: sports shoes and comfortable kit. For shooting: nothing at all — starter equipment is provided. Bring ID proof and a photograph if you plan to register the same day.
